Typical itinerary for a coaching day

Meet at the venue

The day starts at nine o’clock with tea or coffee, followed by an hour in the classroom to talk about fly rods and lines and the basics of fly fishing. Then outside for some casting instruction (this takes around an hour). Back to the classroom for refreshments and more instruction on knots, flies and health and safety when fly fishing, then back outside once more for some casting practice.

Lunch.

After lunch, out onto the lake in a boat to try to put into practice what you have been taught in the morning session, and hopefully catch a trout or two.

If  the weather conditions are so bad that the boats cannot go out, then bank fishing is the only option.

At around five we head back to the lodge to discuss the day’s progress and gut the fish that you have caught.

The day with us is full of fun, so if you do NOT want to enjoy yourselves then do NOT book a day with us.

We can only take groups of up to six persons at any one time for the above.

We are sorry we cannot take anyone under the age of twelve. The parents or guardians of young anglers under the age of sixteen must give in writing their permission for the child to attend these sessions.

Eye protection,  safty or Sun glasses must be worn at all times when casting with or without a fly on the end of the line.

Glasses, Hats and waterproof clothing must be brought to every session. On sunny days sun cream is also a must have.

A deposit off 50% must be paid in advance at least two weeks before the day’s tuition.

Larger groups can be catered for but we must have at least two months notice for this and a deposit of 50% in advance at least two weeks before the day.

If you just require our services for a days guiding.

We meet at the fishing lodge (At any of the fisheries you wish to fish) at around eight in the morning; this gives us time for some casting practice to iron out any faults that you may have.

life jackets must be worn at all time when out on the water..

. Then out for a fun days fly fishing.

Depending on conditions the Guide will pick which method he thinks suitable.

Fishing will finish at around five in the evening, if you wish to fish into the evening with or without the guide this can be arranged.

When booking a days guiding with us, six weeks notice must be given and a 50% deposit must be paid in advance.

The price you pay is the only price. No hidden charges.

Our policy is to give you a fun day out, and hopfully you will have gained some knowledge in  the art of fly fishing for trout.

After November 1st all boats are taken off the waters, and bank fishing is the only option that is available.

The boats at most waters can take up to three persons (one ghillie and two anglers). the price you pay covers the boat, permit, ghillie and rod hire for the day, if needed.
