Pana River Kola Peninsula Russia

We have arranged temporary fishing camps at the best salmon rivers on the Kola peninsula since the summer of 1995. In June we go to the Pana river, which flows into the Varzuga River. The Pana originates northeast of Apatity city. It is a stream perfectly suited for fly fishing. It runs across the taiga through untouched wilderness.

The water system of Varzuga and its affluence Pana and Kitza are the greatest salmon breeding waters in Kola. Fish weight generally between 3 and 8 kg. On the Pana you will experience unsurpassed thrills with your one-hand rod an a dry fly. Salmon fishing in Kola is regarded as one of the very best in the world.

Travel information

Included in the package is six full days of fishing with accommodation in tent and all meals, as well as transport by bus from Murmansk to Apatity where the helicopter pick you up to take you to the river.

The tents for sleeping has tables and chairs, rubber mattresses to lie on. At the camp ther are outside toilet and washing department with simple roof. Mosquito protection in the tent consists of anti mosquito preparation. The kitchen contains well cooked good quality food. The main diet being, meat, fish, bread and vegetables plus some local dishes and food from the wilds to tempt the appetite. Drinks are served with every meal, juice, beer or water.

A roomy food tent equipped with window, table, benches and heating stove. The food is cooked over an open fire and on a gas stove. The table is nicely laid for breakfast and evening meal. Guests take lunch with them consisting of sandwiches and extras to eat while fishing.

Personnel in the camp: two russian person who helps with interpretation and service. A swedish person who helps with guiding and service. Guests are advised to take sleeping bags and mosquito protection with them.
